Pushkar is a bewitching but touristy a little town, like a beautiful mirage on the edge of the desert. It is covered with bathing
ghats, temple, onion domes and chalk colored buildings clustering around its holy lake which is said to have appeared when God Brahma dropped a lotus flower. It's an important pilgrimage center where you will see plenty of Sadhus- the holy men. Pushkar is perhaps best known for its camel fair. This massive congregation of camels, cattle, livestock traders, pilgrims, tourists and filmmakers is most incredible. Pushkar is only 11 Kms from Ajmer - the holy city for Muslims. Pushkar Camel Fair is one of the biggest livestock fairs in India, the Pushkar fair features thousands of people, camels and horses.
